Murder-suicide suspected in Polk County
A residence on East Round Lake Road in rural Luck may be the scene of a murder-suicide, according to officials with the Polk County Sheriff's Department.
At around 10:35 a.m. Saturday, two deputies from the department responded to the home after a family member found their mother, LaVaonne Relander, 66, and Rayburn Boyd, 74, both dead.
An initial investigation indicated to Polk County investigators that Relander was shot multiple times and that Boyd apparently shot himself.
The pair lived together in the town of Georgetown home.
The incident remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff's Department and a medical examination of the bodies is being conducted by MidWest Medical Examiners office in Ramsey, Minn.
