New Richmond man sentenced in 10th OWI conviction
A New Richmond man has been sentenced to prison following a 10th drunken driving conviction.
Timothy John Bartos, 39, 1571 Hwy. 65, was sentenced to two years in prison and three years' extended supervision Oct. 15. He was also fined $1,250, ordered to perform 100 hours of community service, and his license was revoked for 36 months.
The criminal complaint said Bartos was arrested early Nov. 24, 2007, in the town of Emerald when a sheriff's deputy passed him on County D and observed his erratic driving. He failed a field sobriety test and recorded a 0.23 reading on a Breathalyzer. The results of a blood test revealed a 0.267 reading.
His driving record since 1991 indicated previous OWI arrests in Eau Claire, St. Croix, Polk, Dunn and Pierce counties and in Arkansas.
