After 25 years in the auto business, most of it as a service manager, Tony Dreawves was ready for a change. Working with a business coach, he narrowed down what he wanted to do, and one of the biggest priorities was to be his own boss. In January he purchased two franchise areas for NHance Wood Renewal, covering virtually all of Western Wisconsin, including Polk, St. Croix, Pierce, Pepin, Eau Claire, Trempealeau, Jackson, Monroe, Buffalo and Juneau counties.

Tony and Cheryl both grew up on the east side of St. Paul, graduating from Tartan High School in 1978 and 1975 respectively. They moved to Roseau shortly after the Jacob Wetterling abduction, since they had two young boys, it was considered a move for their safety.

Cheryl began work for the Polaris Corporation, so when it was time for them to move back to the metro area, she was able to transfer to Polaris in Osceola and continues to work there in the human resources department.

The couple relocated to Hudson in 1997 and Tony continued his career in the auto industry serving as the service manager for Burnsville Motors.

"The auto industry was going through a lot of changes," said Tony, who started taking classes in small business management and working with a business coach. "I had always taken businesses and built up for their customers. I kept doing it for other people and now I wanted to do it for myself."

"I wanted to work from home, work with the public, I like working with my hands and my tests showed I had a strong entrepreneurial drive," said Tony.

After carefully, examining four options presented by his business coach, Tony decided NHance would give him the chance to do everything he wanted including building up his own business.

NHance is a company out of Logan, Utah. Using a method of abrasion and washing, instead of sanding, Tony can bring new life to your wood floors or kitchen cabinets.

"It kind of helps out with the environment," said Tony. "Since people refurbish what they have instead of throwing it out." Along with refurbishing the surface, clients can also choose to have no color change, a slight color shift or a color change as part of the process.

The NHance Wood Renewal system may be completed in one day, depending on the job. It offers a convenience over the traditional sanding and resealing method. No dust, no odor and no mess is their slogan.

Each NHance franchise is independently owned and operated.
