NHPD gets $4,000 grant

For its participation in the "Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest." crackdown, The North Hudson Police Department will receive a $4,000 grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Bureau of Transportation Safety to purchase new equipment.

More than 300 Wisconsin law enforcement Agencies participated in the national crackdown on drunken driving from Aug.21 through Sept.7.

"Because drunken drivers are deadly threats not just to themselves but to everyone else on our roads, our enforcement efforts help save lives and prevent serious injuries," said Sgt. Mark Volz. "We hope that our education and enforcement efforts will deter people from getting behind the wheel when they're impaired. If more people make the responsible decision to not drive if they're not sober, we will make progress toward the goal of reducing the number of preventable traffic deaths to Zero in Wisconsin."
