Nora Jean Markowski, 80
Nora Jean (Cram) Markowski, age 80, of Hudson, Wis., died on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Christian Community Home in Hudson.
Nora was born on Oct. 27, 1932, to Glen and Mildred (Douscette) Cram in Ladysmith, Wis. She was a graduate of Ladysmith High School. She worked as a dietary aid with the Hudson Hospital for 26 years prior to retiring. On Sept. 3, 1955, she married Anthony Markowski. They were blessed with three children; Janice, Joanne, and Thomas. Some of Nora's happiest moments were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She volunteered at St. Pat's school and in scouts when her children were young. Nora was a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She loved to host family events, as well as 4th of July celebrations. Nora also enjoyed bowling and traveling south in the winter to Orange Beach, Alabama.
Nora is survived by her husband, Anthony; children, Janice (Bruce) Kramer of Stillwater, Joanne (Joseph) Norell of Hudson, and Thomas (Jodi) Markowski of Hudson; nine grandchildren, Peter, Jeff, Matt, Nate, Sarah, Phillip, Theresa (Derek), Amanda and Ben; and great-granddaughter, Cherokee.
Nora was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Laurabelle, Glen Jr., Don, and Bev.
Mass of Christian Burial for Nora was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hudson. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m., on Sunday Oct. 6, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, as well as one hour prior to the mass at church Monday morning.
Memorials can be donated to the donor's choosing in Nora's name.
