North Hudson man accused of sexual assault of a child
Felony charges of sexual assault of a child under 13 and possession of child pornography were filed Monday against Daniel A. Barber, 1033 Michaelson Street N.
According to the complaint, Barber, 45, and chairman of the Pepper Fest committee, is accused of touching the penis of a 5-year-old boy who was staying overnight at his home in 2011 and possession of child pornography on several electronic devices he owns. The incident does not involve his role with the Pepper Fest.
The complaint originated when the boy’s father contacted authorities on Feb. 11. The boy, now 8, told his father, and later a St. Croix County Investigator, that on an overnight stay at Barber’s, he slept in Barber’s bed.
Investigators also said they wanted to interview Barber “regarding allegations of sexual assault of several young boys that had been received by law enforcement agencies in the past.”
