North Hudson man stabbed in his kitchen

An open cell phone call to 911 led North Hudson police to a stabbing victim on North End Road Sunday night.

It was around 7:15 p.m. when police tracked the call to a residence at 612 North End Road. They found the victim, a 45-year-old male, lying on the floor of the kitchen with a knife stuck in his abdomen. Police are not releasing the name of the man at this point in their investigation.

The victim was transported by Hudson EMS to Regions Hospital in stable condition. He was released on Monday and is recuperating with family.

When NHPD Officer Robert Moody arrived on the scene, he found the front door slightly open and proceeded into the house. He announced his presence several times before he heard a faint voice calling out to him. Prior to being transported, the victim said he was home alone and was knocked unconscious while in the residence by an unknown assailant and awoke to find a knife in his abdomen.

The North Hudson Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact their office at (715) 386-8433 or the St. Croix County Emergency Communications Center at (715) 386-4701.

A suspect in this case has not yet been identified, so the police are asking everyone to be diligent about locking their doors and protecting themselves against unwanted intruders.

The North Hudson Police Department acknowledged the support and quick response by St. Croix EMS and Rescue and by the St. Croix County Sheriff's Department that assisted with a neighborhood canvass and scene processing.
