Other Hamm brother will keep Olympic spot
Morgan Hamm of Waukesha will keep his spot on the U.S. Olympic men's gymnastics team.
The International Gymnastics Federation will not appeal a ruling by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.
It said Hamm could compete in the Games at Beijing, despite testing positive for an anti-inflammatory drug at the U.S. nationals in May.
The drug was related to a previous ankle injury and Hamm would have been allowed to take it had he filed the required paperwork in advance, which he didn't.
Hamm received a public warning for it on July 3.
Steve Penny, the head of USA Gymnastics, said the federation's move was expected and the team is glad to have it, so they can make their final preparations for next month's Olympics.
The U.S. team will leave today (Tuesday) for China. They'll open their competition on Aug. 9.
