The Green Bay Packers took their normal Tuesday off, while the Minnesota Vikings had a light practice for their game against the Pack on Monday night.

Three veterans were allowed to rest: quarterback Brett Favre, tight end Jim Kleinsasser, and left guard Steve Hutchinson.

Punt returner Darius Reynaud also sat out, after hurting a hamstring in Sunday's Minnesota victory over San Francisco. Reynaud said the injury was not too serious.

Linebacker Chad Greenway said the excitement level is at a fever pitch for Favre's first game against his old Packer team but he said the Vikings need to maintain a level of consistency in their preparations.

He said a heavy presence of veterans should help them this week.

The Packers will have meetings today, and they won't hit the practice field until Thursday.
