The Green Bay Packers got some heat when they didn't take an outside linebacker during the NFL Draft which ended Saturday.

General Manager Ted Thompson addressed that concern soon afterward -signing undrafted free agents John Russell of Wake Forest, Frank Zombo of Central Michigan and Tim Knicky of Stephen F. Austin.

All three were considered to be undersized on the defensive line in college, but would fit an outside linebacker spot in a 3-4 defense.

The Packers were thin at that spot after Aaron Kampman left for Jacksonville.

Russell said he knows that Clay Matthews will go after the quarterback from the other side - and the Packers are looking for another pass rusher who could also be physical against the run.

Brad Jones started after Kampman got hurt last season. Jones is still there, along with Brady Poppinga and Cyril Obiozor.
