Packers take a look at Pittsburgh safety
The Green Bay Packers coaches have met with Pittsburgh free agent safety Anthony Smith.
He played three seasons with the Steelers and started 14 games. Media reports said the 25-year-old Smith was interested in helping the Packers make the transition to their new 3-4 defense.
The Steelers cut the former third-round pick before he could become a restricted free agent. He was relegated to a back-up role last season and was eventually limited to special teams.
Smith had four interceptions and 106 tackles in 46 games with Pittsburgh.
Earlier this week, the Packers met with free agent safety Mike Adams of Cleveland.
Packers' fullback John Kuhn met with Arizona this week and is scheduled to visit Cincinnati on Monday. He's a restricted free agent, and the Packers can match any offer he gets.
