Patricia H. "Pat" Bakken, 75, of Hudson passed away on Thursday, May 22, at United Hospital in St. Paul.
She was born the daughter of George and Florence Powers on Dec. 6, 1932, in Menomonie. Pat attended St. Patrick's grade school, graduated from Hudson High School in 1950 and attended St. Catherine's College.
On Dec. 22, 1951, she was united in marriage to Arthur "Art" Bakken in Hudson; they would be blessed with seven children.
She loved to garden, was a Master Gardener and for 10 years she worked at the greenhouse at Mueller's True Value in Hudson. She was talented at everything she tried: pottery, basket weaving, stained glass and painting with oil and acrylics; she often gave her works to family and friends.
Over the years, Pat volunteered at church in the choirs, serving communion in homes, and at the school. She enjoyed her time helping with city elections and voting.
Pat is survived by her husband of 57 years, Art; sons, Steven (Caye), Bob (Denise), Mike (Diane) and Doug (Jan); daughters, Mary (Chris) Pagel and Barb (Scott Meehan) Bosman-Meehan; daughter-in-law, Jody Bakken; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tom; and daughter-in-law, Becky.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held for Pat at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson, with visitation for one hour prior.
Interment followed at St. Patrick's Parish Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the church.
Services were entrusted to O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson.
