Peter Huseboe dies
Peter Huseboe, 49, of Hudson died Sunday, Feb. 4, at United Hospital in St. Paul after surgery for a brain tumor Jan. 26.
Huseboe and his wife, Diane, have lived in Hudson since 1992. Four of their five children attend Hudson schools and are active in hockey. Huseboe worked as a salesman for Reebok and Teva and had previously owned and operated a sporting goods store in La Crosse before coming to Hudson. He was an avid outdoorsman whose passion took him on a bike ride to Alaska and to the top of Mt. Rainier. He shared his love of the outdoors with his family, together enjoying hiking, running, skiing, canoeing and biking. The family belongs to Trinity Lutheran Church.
After suffering severe headaches since last September, Huseboe was diagnosed with a brain tumor on Jan. 17 and underwent surgery to remove it. A Web site that kept track of his treatment and prognosis indicated more than 8,500 people had visited the site to check on Huseboe, send their thoughts and ultimately their condolences as of Tuesday afternoon. That Website can be found at www.caringbridge.org/visit/peterhuseboe.
Besides his wife, he is survived by children Jessica, 23, Matthew, 17, Evan, 15, Jaslin, 13, and Jacob, 11, his parents, Ione and Richard Huseboe, and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St. A complete obituary can be found on page 2C of this week's Star-Observer, and online beginning Friday.
