Peter Richard Huseboe, age 49 of Hudson, joined his Lord on Feb. 4, 2007.

Pete was born on Sept. 17, 1957, in Madison, Wis., the son of Ione and Richard Huseboe. He graduated from Madison Memorial High School with the class of 1975, and attended the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse and the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

He was an owner of a sporting goods store in La Crosse, and opened a bike shop name Vagabond Touring.

Pete met his future wife, Diane Hewitt, in 1979, and they were blessed with five children, Jessica, 23, Matthew, 17, Evan, 15, Jaslin, 13, and Jacob, 11. Pete moved his family to Hudson in 1992. He worked as a footwear sales representative for Reebok, and most recently for Teva. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Pete's love of the outdoors took him on a bike ride to Alaska and on a climb to the top of Mt. Ranier. He shared that love of the outdoors with his family, and together they enjoyed running, biking, skiing, canoeing and hiking. Pete was very proud to be the father of five hockey players.

He will be missed for his quiet strength, kindness, unassuming nature, sense of humor and wisdom. He lived a contented life.

Pete is preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis and Melida Huseboe and Clarence and Frances Gilbertson; and great-aunt Emma Homey.

Pete is survived by his wife, Diane; children, Jessica and special friend Chad Narva, Matthew, Evan, Jaslin and Jacob; parents, Ione and Richard Huseboe; sister, Karen Lee and husband Bob; Pete's many "brothers"; inlaws, Don and Carmen Hewitt and family; many nieces and nephews; and friends wherever he traveled.

A Celebration of Pete's life will be held on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at 3 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of Hudson.
