Kyle Jensen, Beldenville, will be sentenced in September for homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and second-degree reckless endangerment.

Two other charges stemming from the crash were dropped.

The crash that killed 21-year-old Andrew Elsen took place just after 1 p.m. on Jan. 27. Jensen's pickup truck was broadsided by a semitrailer traveling about 50 mph on Highway 63 near County Road N in Ellsworth Township.

Jensen, the driver of the pickup, was allegedly drinking beer shortly before the crash, according to the criminal complaint.

Jensen faces a maximum of 35 years in prison and a $125,000 fine but will likely see a reduced sentence as a result of the plea hearing.

His sentencing hearing is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Pierce County courthouse in Ellsworth.
