The Hudson Police Department issued a press release in afternoon saying the woman entered the bank at 10:47 a.m. Thursday and handed a note to one of the tellers demanding money. The note also said she had a weapon, but none was displayed, according to the press release.

The press release was accompanied a surveillance camera photo of the woman.

The woman, described as a white female about 5-foot-8 or 5-foot-9, was given an undisclosed amount of money and walked out of the bank. She was last seen walking west on Wisconsin Street toward the Lakefront Park. The bank is located at 219 Second St., in front of the River City Center strip mall.

Bank employees described the woman as having a medium complexion and a thin build. She is believed to be around 20 to 30 years old.

The police department said it didn't yet have any information about a vehicle being used in the crime.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Hudson Police Department at (715) 386-4771 or (715) 386-4701.

The Hudson police were assisted by officers from the St. Croix County Sheriff's Department and the North Hudson Police Department in responding to the robbery.

Law enforcement radio transmissions indicated that the robber escaped with "a substantial amount of cash." She reportedly stuffed the cash into a larger, black shoulder purse. She was said to be dressed in black and green, wearing sunglasses and a hat.

The police department released a security camera photograph of the robber approaching the teller.
