In 2004, about 40 people, men, women and children were prayerfully protesting the Hudson YMCA's decision to rent their facilities to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the United States. We were trying to convince the YMCA to keep the "C" in their name.
For the 40-plus men, women, children and babies present at that peaceful, prayerful protest, this event was their first encounter with pro-choice violence. As is thoroughly documented by Human Life International and rarely reported in the main-stream media, the violence against peaceful pro-lifers is unknown to most.
Those that "choose" to kill or hurt abortionists are not pro-life -- they are pro-choice. They choose to kill what they deem to be an inconvenient human being, born or unborn. Many of us who pray in front of the Planned Parenthood facility at St. Paul's Highland Park witness every day the pro-choice violence that is abortion -- inside and outside the facility.
PP escorts can become very violent, including physical and verbal assault perpetrated against those who are trying to stop the killing of the innocent babies waiting to be born, as do those that are choosing death for their children by abortion.
We, as a community, need to recognize what the term "pro-choice" really means. For more information on pro-choice violence, visit: http://abortionviolence.com.
If someone chooses to do something violent against another person, they should be held accountable. How often do we hear of people being outraged when not informed about a known violent person in our community? Often, victims are intimidated into silence. Chances are good that for every time the police may be called to an incident, there are many more unreported incidences out there.
