Raiders fall to Minnetonka in football opener

The Hudson Raider football team fell behind early and couldn’t recover in a 43-23 loss to Minnetonka in its season opener Friday night in Minnetonka.

Hudson trailed 15-0 at the end of one and 23-0 in the second quarter before a Miles Lewis 85-yard kickoff return put the Raiders on the board.

Cal Johnson returned a punt 44 yards to set up a 2-yard touchdown run by Max Gierke to make it a 23-14 game but Minnetonka extended its lead to 43-14 in the second half.

Jared Johnson recorded a safety to give the Raiders two points in the third quarter, and Nick Blomberg scored from 18-yards out in the fourth to make the final 43-23.
