Raiders fall short at Superior

The Raiders football team found out Friday night in Superior just how tough the Big Rivers Conference will be this season when the Spartans came up with a big defensive stand late in the game and held on to defeat the Raiders, 14-7, at Ole Haugsrud Field.

The loss was the first of the season for Hudson after nonconference wins over Wisconsin Rapids and Somerset. Superior won for the first time after close losses to state powers Stevens Point and D.C. Everest.
