The most successful season in Hudson High School football history ended one week sooner than Raider Nation hoped.

Top-ranked Arrowhead's aerial circus put on a show Saturday, Nov. 10, connecting for three touchdowns of 60-plus yards in the first half, and finishing with 593 total yards of offense, in handing sixth-ranked Hudson its first loss of the season, 43-20, in a WIAA Division 1 semifinal in Schofield.

The Warhawks will play Sun Prairie (12-0) for the Division 1 state title Friday, Nov. 16, in Madison.

Hudson defensive lineman Alex Burgess returned a fumble 61-yards for a touchdown to give the Raiders a 14-9 second quarter lead, but Arrowhead took just two plays to move 79-yards, taking the lead for good on a 61-yard touchdown pass from Brady Kelliher to Jake Miller.

Kelliher threw for 340 of his 426 yards in the first half, including touchdowns of 61, 88 and 35 yards. The Warhawks also got a 60-yard TD pass from halfback Dom Todarello to Ricky Finco on their opening possession to take a 7-0 lead.

Hudson fullback Dan Loughney, who rushed for 136 yards, scored on a 16-yard run to tie the score, 7-7.

After the Raiders stopped Arrowhead on 4th-and-goal inside their own 1-yard line, quarterback Mike Hommes was dropped in the end zone for a Warhawk safety and a 9-7 Arrowhead lead.

Hommes scored on a 1-yard run late in the first half to cut the Warhawk lead to 22-20, but Arrowhead answered with a three-play, 76-yard touchdown drive to take a 29-20 lead into halftime.

After a scoreless third quarter, Arrowhead scored a pair of rushing touchdowns in the final frame, including a 3-yard run with 2:09 remaining to make the final 43-20.
