Raiders softball sweeps Eau Claire Memorial

The Raider softball team wrapped up the regular season by sweeping Eau Claire Memorial, 12-6 and 13-3, in a Big Rivers Conference doubleheader last Tuesday, May 22, at Grandview Park.

The two victories snapped a five-game losing streak for Hudson and gave the Raiders a final BRC record of 6-6, tied for third place, while improving their overall mark to 9-8.

Hudson received the No. 3 seed in the seven-team WIAA regional bracket and hosted No. 6 River Falls in a regional semifinal game this past Tuesday, May 29. The winner moves on to face either No. 2 seed Eau Claire North or No. 7 Eau Claire Memorial in a regional final game Thursday, May 31, at the home of the higher seed.

The sectional semifinals are scheduled for Monday, June 4, with the sectional final Thursday, June 5, in Chippewa Falls.

Last Tuesday against Eau Claire Memorial, Ellie Whitacre and Kindra Witthus both homered in the first game and Lexi Smith picked up the victories in both games as the Raiders swept the Old Abes.
