Ralph D. Becker, 96

Ralph D. Becker, 96, of Hudson, a retired clerk of court for St. Croix County, died early Monday morning, March 17, at Hudson Hospital.

Ralph Becker was born on Feb 14, 1912, at Cannon Falls, Minn., the son of Dietrick and Effie (Miller) Becker. The Beckers moved to Wisconsin where he attended elementary school in Donald and then moved to Minneapolis, where he graduated from South High School.

Ralph was a professional photographer and partner in the Kuehl and Becker Photo Studio in Minneapolis, Minn. From 1951 to 1957 he owned and operated the Hilltop Tavern in Woodville.

He was elected clerk of courts for St. Croix County in 1961 and served until his retirement in 1977. He was chairman of the St. Croix Democratic Party for several years and stayed active in party circles for many years. He enjoyed bowling and muskie fishing and was a charter member of the Lions Club of Woodville.

Ralph is survived by his sons, Rolland (Jean) Becker of Hudson and Robert Becker of Hudson; a daughter, Marilynn (Rich) Anderson of Baldwin; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; daughter-in-law, Carolynn; and two sisters, Inez Erickson and Olive Falck.

A Celebration of Life will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. Friends are welcome from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Services are entrusted to the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson and Countryside Crematory of Baldwin.
