Correction

In the Jr. Legion baseball third place photo at the New Richmond tournament in last week's Star-Observer, Ryan Larson was incorrectly identified as Nick Larson.

Carlson scores ace

Jack Carlson of Hudson scored a hole-in-one at Clifton Hollow Golf Club near River Falls Thursday, June 30. The ace came on the par 3, 166-yard fifth hole. He used a 7 iron.

Volleyball camps held

A summer volleyball camp sponsored by Hudson Volleyball Association/Croix Attack will be held for girls in July. Both sessions will be held at the Hudson High School east gym. Session 1 is July 11-14 for girls entering sixth or seventh grade with little or no experience. Times are 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Cost is $65 for the four-day session. Girls should arrive at 10 a.m. on Monday. Campers will be introduced to the game of volleyball and taught the proper skills for a solid foundation. The coaches of this camp are high school aged players with at least one year of club experience. Adult supervision and coordination will be provided by Hudson Volleyball Association.

Session 2 is July 12-14 from 5-9 p.m. for girls entering seventh or eighth grade with experience. The cost is $85 for the three-day session. Girls should arrive Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. This camp is for more experienced players. Campers will be introduced to more advanced skills and learn offensive and defensive strategies. Players will be allowed to begin specialist training (hitting, setting and libero). The coaches of this camp are experienced high school and club coaches.
