Amy Frye, a senior, and Kate Haag have gained the all-Big Rivers Conference honors for girls basketball. Frye made the second team and Haag honorable mention.
Hudson lacrosse getting its legs
Hudson lacrosse is accepting registration for boys in third through eighth grade, and registration forms can be found at www.hudsonhockey.com on the left side tab labeled lacrosse. Hunter safety class slated
The Hudson Rod & Gun Club is sponsoring a Hunter Safety Class with registration for the program on March 25 at the Club at 6:30 pm. The class is limited to the first 50 students; there is no pre-registration. All registration will be done on March 25 and a parent must attend to sign required forms. The class meets every Thursday from 6:30-9:00 p.m. for eight weeks beginning Thursday, March 27 and there is a mandatory Range Day Sat. April 12. Attendance requirements must be met for certification. There is a $10 non-refundable fee for the class, due at registration.
There is no maximum age, however, everyone born after Jan. 1, 1973 must take Hunter Education in order to get a hunting license. There is no minimum or maximum age however a child must be 12 years old to get a Wisconsin hunting license. To get the full benefits of the class, a student must turn 12 within six months of course completion. Those students will get a certificate from the DNR which also entitles the student to free small game hunting and a "hunter's choice" with your deer license the first year. Participants must bring an operable firearm, preferably a .22 cal. to class (not registration night). No ammunition. Shutouts, but second at state
Goalie Megan DuBois and Kenzie Prater, both of Hudosn, helped the Western Wisconsin Stars to second place in the U-12 state hockey tournament in Appleton on March 8-9. The team beat Wisconsin Ice Spirit 7-0 and Grantsburg in overtime 1-0, then lost in the title game to the Central Wisconsin Storm 3-0.
