Richard Henry Selbrede, 65
Richard Henry Selbrede, 65, of Escondido, Calif., and formerly of Hudson, died of cancer at his home in Escondido, Saturday, June 14.
He was born Aug. 29, 1942, the son of Henry C. and Bernice (Love) Selbrede, and came to Hudson in 1944, when his father bought the former Kelly Garage on Second Street (now Johnson's Body shop).
He attended Hudson schools, graduating from Hudson High School with the class of 1960. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1961, serving until 1965.
He has made his home in California for many years.
A memorial service was Friday, June 27 at the Escondido Country Club. His body was cremated.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bernice Selbrede.
Survivors are his wife, Cynthia Lou; two brothers, Byron of Superior and Keith of Camarillo, Calif.; three sisters, Barbara Mann of Hudson, Nancy Selbrede of Escondido and Beveryly Lee (Mrs. Otto Lee, adopted) and four adult children, Tera, Tami, Tiffany and Trent, all of California.
