Robbed and beaten former Packer, Javon Walker in Las Vegas hospital

Former Green Bay Packers' receiver Javon Walker is hospitalized in Las Vegas, where he was apparently robbed and knocked unconscious.

Police said Walker was taken to a hospital with "significant injuries" after he was found early Monday on a street off the Las Vegas Strip.

He was in fair condition at last word.

Walker signed a six-year, $55 million contract with the Oakland Raiders, after the Denver Broncos cut him in February.

The Raiders said they were gathering information about the incident and would not comment further.

Walker was Green Bay's first-round draft pick in 2001.

He had a break-out year in '04 with 89 catches for 1,382 yards and 12 touchdowns, but Walker tore a knee ligament in the 2005 season opener and the Packers traded him to Denver the following year, when he caught eight touchdown passes.

However, last season Walker hurt his right knee for a second time and was limited to 26 catches in eight games for the Broncos.
