He furthered his education at 916 Votech School in Mahtomedi, Minn., in the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) program. Over the years, he worked for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and the Woodbury Healthcare Center in the maintenance department.

On Sept. 23, 1989, he was united in marriage to Mary Kay Shubat at the Presbyterian Church in Hudson. This union was blessed with a daughter, Stacy, who was the love of his life.

Bob loved to work with his hands and could fix almost anything. He was intrigued with how things worked and took pleasure from reading up on something, such as a motor, car or stereo, and then tinkering with it and later fixing it. He also took pride in maintaining himself and lifting weights.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Stacy; parents, David and Jane Petersen of Hudson; brother, Richard (Jodi) Petersen; nephews and nieces Kyle, Lauren, Claire and Isabella of Appleton; parents-in-law, Matt and Donna Shubat of Hudson; brothers/sisters-in-law, Nate (Toni) Shubat and their daughter Caitlin of West Bend, Marcia (Jim) Krier and their children Matthew, Sarah and Jon of Hudson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

The funeral service for Bob was 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Faith Community Church in Hudson with Pastor Larry Szyman officiating.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m., prior to the service, at church on Monday.

Burial was in the Willow River Cemetery in Hudson.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers and will be used to further his daughter's college education.
