Rod and Gun club has public sight-in hours
The Hudson Rod, Gun and Archery Club will offer its annual sight-in days to the public from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 24 and 25, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, Nov. 7 and 8, Nov. 14 and 15 at the club grounds, 285 Krattley Lane. Sight-in hours are noon-4 p.m. Nov. 6 and 13.
Cost is $3 per gun for members and $7 per gun for non-members, and includes targets. Club members will be available to assist people in sighting-in their deer gun. For more information, call Jim Strandquist at (715) 386-2259.
To get to the club, go north through North Hudson on Hwy. 35, turn right (east) at Krattley Lane, turn right off Krattley at the club sign and follow the road southbound to the club.
The club is the home of Boy Scout Troop 168 and provides a safe and convenient location for the shooting sports. The club sponsors shooting and outdoor recreation classes for nearly all ages and genders, including Youth Day, Youth Trap Leagues, Youth BB Gun Leagues, Hunter's Safety courses and the Women On Target program; along with safety courses for ATV, watercraft and snowmobile safety courses are taught. Club ranges are also used by area law enforcement agencies for State mandated firearms training. There are pistol, rifle, trap, skeet and five-stand ranges. The range is open to the public during winter hours from 10am-4pm on both Saturday and Sunday. The Club is currently taking applications for 2010 memberships.
