Rotary honors Hudson High students of the month
Four Hudson High School seniors were named Students of the Month by Hudson's two Rotary Clubs, the Daybreak Club and the Thursday Noon Club.
Emma Dunn and William Skinner were selected by the Noon Club, and Bridget Donahue and Abigail Opseth were selected by the Daybreak Club. Each student gave a brief message and received a certificate and pin from each club.
Dunn has been active in school with National Honor Society, Raidaires Dance team and wind ensemble. Outside of school she’s active with Youth Action Hudson and was a Presidential Volunteer Service Award winner.
She plans to attend UW-Madison, UM-Twin Cities, Macalester or St. Olaf College and study political science and international studies. Dunn is the daughter of Sara Damon and Bill Dunn.
Skinner has been active in school with National Honor Society, swim team (captain), tennis, cross country and founder of the Pursuit of Genius Club. Outside of school he’s active with Youth Action Hudson.
He is considering several colleges and plans to study business and economics. Skinner is the son of Carol and Joel Skinner.
Donahue has been active in school with National Honor Society (vice president), student council, captain of the forensics team, choir, Student Mentor and Flip it Forward. Outside of school she is active with Sustainability Club (president), Youth Action Hudson, Hudson SAFE, and works at the Westconsin Credit Union (school to career program).
She plans to attend St. Cloud State University and study business. Donahue is the daughter of Patti and Paul Donahue.
Opseth has been active in school with quiz bowl and mentoring and tutoring. Outside of school she has been active with the Refuge Youth Group and is a volunteer at the Hudson Area Joint Library.
He is considering several colleges and plans to study education. Opseth is the daughter of Rochelle and Paul Opseth.
The Daybreak Rotary Club meets each Wednesday morning at the Hudson Golf Club. The Thursday Noon Club meets each Thursday noon at Hudson House Grand Hotel.
