Ruth Aanonson, 83, of Roberts passed away on Friday, Aug. 22, at the Lutheran Home in River Falls.
Ruth was born in Minneapolis on Dec. 7, 1924, to Anton and Helen Kolbrek.
She went to Mud Hen Lake grade school and graduated from Siren High School.
Ruth worked in Minneapolis and Milltown. Since 1958, she has worked for the James Schwalen farm and home as his housekeeper.
She had a love of many things including fishing, shopping, flowers and vegetable gardens.
She is survived by her special companion, James Schwalen; son, Frank (Rosemary) Paulich Sr.; grandchildren, Frank (Sheila) Paulich Jr. and Christine (Joe) Solberg; great-grandchildren, Katie Paulich, Mark and Ashley Solberg; sister, Grace Hinrichs; and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Helen Olson; her three brothers, Arnold, Roy and William Kolbrek; uncle, Chris Olson; and two ex-husbands, Frank Paulich and Charles Aanonson.
The funeral service was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Ezekiel Lutheran Church in River Falls.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cashman-Hill Funeral Home in River Falls and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Interment was in German Settlement Cemetery in Hudson.
