Sandra Lee (Brown) Lang, 66, of Roberts died Wednesday, April 23, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born, July 28, 1941, in Racine, the daughter of Jerome and Marylu (Cobb) Brown. She graduated from Richfield (Minn.) High School in 1959, moving to Hudson later that year, where she worked at the First National Bank.
She married Rodney Nord of Hudson, and they had four children. They later divorced, and Sandy married John Gillstrom and became a bus driver for the Hudson School District for eight years.
After Gillstrom's death, she married James C. Lang. They were a team of over-the-road truck drivers. She received two awards from the federal government, the second one for driving for 2 million miles without an accident or citation.
After retiring from truck driving, she returned to her first love, driving a school bus for handicapped children.
When she was home, she enjoyed reading and baking, and had a large recipe collection that she loved to share.
Surviving are her husband, James; her mother, Marylu Brown of Hudson; three children, Rein (Lisa) Gillstrom of Bozeman, Mont., and their children, Abigail and Lillian, Kelly Gillstrom-Avery of California, Mark (Gina) Gillstrom of New Richmond, their children Jeffrey and Cloe, and her brother, Randy (Karen) Brown and their daughter, Stephanie of Woodbury, Minn., and special aunt Barbara Pearce of Portland, Ore.
She is preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Gillstrom, in 1980 and her father, Jerome Brown, in 1985.
At her request, there will be no service except for a private one for the family.
The family wishes to thank Adoray Hospice for their tender attention.
