Search on for missing autistic man near Grantsburg
An autistic man is missing from a camp near Grantsburg in northwest Wisconsin and officials are worried that his health is failing.
About 180 volunteers are helping relatives and authorities search for Keith Kennedy, 25, of Shoreview, Minn.
He wandered away Sunday night from the Trade Lake Camp in Burnett County. It's a place for developmentally-disabled adults.
Head counselor Barb Denn said Kennedy was returning to his bunkhouse when he vanished.
Volunteer Niki Olson says Kennedy can only speak four words and he won't respond to a verbal call.
Meanwhile, his kidneys might be shutting down. Olson said Kennedy had a kidney transplant 13 years ago and as of last night he has missed five doses of an anti-rejection drug he was taking.
Kennedy's mother, Linda, is among those searching a large wooded area at the camp.
