Semi- crash involving hazardous materials closes I-94 Sunday night
Interstate 94 was temporarily closed for a time about 9:25 p.m., Sunday when a semi-rig carrying flamable hazardous materials collided with a car, prompting a scare that stopped all traffic on the highway.
Meanwhile, Washington Co. (Minn.) officers were hustling to direct water patrol deputies to warn boaters away from the area too.
Authorities on both sides of the river scrambled to close on-ramps and warn motorists streaming in from east and west.
Two westbound lanes were re-opened at 9:50 p.m. At that point, traffic was backed up beyond mile marker 8 into Wisconsin.
Responding with Hudson Police, fire and ambulance were North Hudson officers along with both the Wisconsin and Minnsota state patrols.
