Semi-truck overturns on Hwy. 12 at truck stop

A semi tractor-trailer overturned on the southbound shoulder of Hwy 12. at Brakke Drive just after 2 p.m. Monday.

No one appeared to be injured. The driver was seen walking about the scene and talking to a law enforcement officer shortly after the accident.

The St. Croix County Sheriff's Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Hudson Fire Department and at least four wreckers from Jerry's Towing were at the scene.

Workers from Jerry's Towing were beginning the process of putting the rig back on its wheels about 45 minutes after the crash.

It appeared that the driver was turning southbound onto Hwy. 12 from Brakke Drive when the semi rig tipped onto its side, coming to rest on the southbound shoulder of the four-lane divided highway. Brakke Drive is on the north side of I-94 at Exit 4. It leads to the entrance to the Travel America truck stop.

A witness told a law enforcement officer that the tractor-trailer was traveling fast.
