Sharing Tree collecting school supplies again this year

The Sharing Tree of Hudson, a program that provides school supplies to Hudson school district students in need, will be accepting new school supply donations from Saturday, July 20 through Saturday, Aug. 3.

Drop-off locations are

--Chapter2Books, 422 Second St.

--County Market, 2310 Crestview Drive;

--Starbucks, 1001 Pearson Drive

--Valley Services, 403 Vine Street (Monday-Friday only); and

--Westconsin Credit Union, 1601 Maxwell Drive.

Go to to see the list of requested school supplies. Last year The Sharing Tree provided backpacks and school supplies to 260+

students,1,030+ students have been assisted to date since 2002.

The Hudson Community Foundation is accepting monetary donations on behalf of The Sharing Tree. Go to The Sharing Tree page at the St. Croix Valley Foundation website and donate online, or mail a check to The Sharing Tree Fund of the Hudson Community Foundation, 516 Second St., Ste. 214, Hudson, WI 54016.

All contributions are tax deductible.

Those wishing to sponsor a student may call Cindy Corbett at (715) 781-9723 or contact Cindy via email through by Saturday, Aug. 3.

Students are identified by age, grade, and gender and all of their school supply needs are listed on a Sharing Tree shopping tag.

Families interested in registering their student(s) can pick up applications at The Source, 901 Fourth S., Room 214, in the old library building, the Christian Cupboard

food shelf at St. Patrick Church, the school counselors at all Hudson public schools, or print off a registration at their website. Registrations must be postmarked no

later than Monday, Aug. 5, and sent to: The Sharing Tree, PO Box 1082, Hudson, WI 54016.
