The accident took place around 11:30 a.m. outside of Pudge's Bar. According to HPD Det. Sgt. Geoff Willems, the driver was conducting of an "oval maneuver" with the team when he felt his cart start to flip. He straightened the vehicle out to avoid the flip but ended up going into the crowd.

Willems said none of the children had to be transported by ambulance. He said that the incident is still under investigation but it does not appear that any reckless driving was the cause of the accident. Willem said the name of the driver is not yet being released but that he lives in Beldenville. Willems added that it does not appear that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

The carts are operated by the Zor Roadrunners Precision Go Kart team.
