At least 15 people have been killed in Wisconsin snowmobile crashes this winter.

That's the same number as a year ago on this date.

Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said two riders were killed this past weekend.

Robert England Jr., 73, of Peshtigo died after his snowmobile hit a tree off a rural road in the Marinette County town of Grover.

James Weymiller, 44, of La Crosse was killed Sunday when his machine hit a tree north of Holmen.

A preliminary autopsy report said his blood alcohol level was 0.36, 4.5 times the minimum level for drunk driving of 0.08.
