Spirit of the St. Croix Art Festival is this weekend
The Spirit of the St. Croix Art Festival, which draws thousands of visitors to experience a variety of creative talent and great food, is scheduled Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28 and 29, in Lakefront Park.
This year, the festival offers even more art in the park, with 80-plus juried artists showing their best. Acoustic musicians will add to the atmosphere of fine art and fall flavors. The two day event will begin on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and continues Sunday, Sept. 29, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Along with original fine art, live music and fabulous festival foods, join artists while they create. From throwing clay pottery to painting in the park, there are many hands-on demonstrations to inspire and enjoy. Visitors can explore their creative side with free activities for the entire family.
The event is sponsored by the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau in partnership with The Phipps Center for the Arts.
Living Statues, hands-on creative activities and performance art are more great additions to the creative experience of the Spirit of the St. Croix Art Festival.
Experience Hula Hooping like you never have before with SydneySpins, and watch Hudson native and "Hoop Idol" competitor, Sydney Malanaphy, as she makes her moves.
Interactive musician, Paul Imholte will stroll the grounds, inviting you to try your musical skills on a harpsichord, violin, banjo and a variety of musical instruments. Acoustic music will be sounding from the artist village as well as the Lakefront Bandshell. Enjoy Charlie Uehlin on guitar, local group August Blues and the jazz of Sam Salter. Devine Collection will return to this year's festival with its soul, funk, rhythm & blues and jazz.
