The St. Croix County Fair got off to a wet start.

The opening ceremonies at 10:45 a.m. were a bit damp as attendees huddled under a tent to listen to fair board members give their welcome.

A barbershop group from Osceola High School performed the National Anthem and three flags were raised: the American flag, the 4-H flag and the newly designed Centennial flag.

The drizzle continued into the afternoon as fair participants brought in their entries and food stands began selling their wares.

The rain should slow and stop by tonight and the weather forecast for Friday predicts hot, sunny weather.
