A powerful early Friday storm downed numerous trees and caused widespread power outages in the Hudson area.

The storm, which struck just after 4 a.m., packed strong winds, lightning and heavy rains. There were reports of two inches and more of rain in the Hudson and North Hudson area.

Trees were down in many neighborhoods and the power outages were widespread. At one point the outages included both the downtown and hill areas. Power was still out in many areas at mid-morning Friday.
