Swimmers fall to ECM

Hudson swam to first place finishes in all three individual freestyle events but Big Rivers Conference powerhouse Eau Claire Memorial won every other event to defeat the Raiders, 120-66 Thursday in Eau Claire.

Emily Bedford won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2 minutes, 5.66 seconds and Lindsey Bedford won the 500 yard free in 5:34.75 while Catie Weese took first in the 100 free in 58.71 seconds to account for the Raider victories.

Emily Bedford also took second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:06.35 and Lindsey Bedford added a second place time of 2:07.11 in the 200 free while Weese was second in the 50 free in 26.84 seconds.

Noey Anderson contributed a pair of second place times -- 2:24.16 in the 200 individual medley and 1:07.16 in the 100 backstroke. In the 200 yard medley relay, Anderson, Melly Meyer, Emily Bedford and Weese combined for a second place time of 2:07.64, while in the 400 freestyle relay, Weese, Emily Bedford, Lindsey Bedford and Anderson teamed up to take second in 3:56.08. Ebonee Townsend, Hannah VanValkenburg, Megan Haney and Ronni Schoenherr were third in the 400 free relay in 4:18.79.

Meyer, Lindsey Bedford, Haney and Townsend also took third in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:53.62.

The Raiders will host Menomonie Thursday, Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the middle school pool and visit River Falls next Thursday, Sept. 24.
