Teens host 'Walk, Run or Roll Away from Drugs'
Hudson High School's annual Red Ribbon Week kicked off Saturday morning with a five-kilometer walk and run.
Paul Jensen of Hudson was the overall winner of the "Walk, Run or Roll Away from Drugs" with a time of 20 minutes, 28 seconds.
Christina Fladmark, accompanied by her black lab, Hailey, was the first woman across the finish line. Her time was 23:18.
Red Ribbon Week is held to educate students and the community about the harmful effects of tobacco and illegal drug use, as well as alcohol abuse.
Saturday's walk and run, which began and ended at the high school, was sponsored by Students Against Destructive Decisions, with help from Hudson Insurance Agency, Community Action and the school district.
