Theft charge against Fr. Dahlberg dismissed

Fr. Daniel J. Dahlberg, 70, Superior, completed the terms of a deferred judgment agreement and a theft charge was dismissed June 26.

The criminal complaint said between Aug. 10, 2009 and Feb. 2001, Dahlberg took some $10,800 from the charity account he was in charge of at St. Patrick’s Church in Hudson.

Dahlberg told investigators on March 24, 2011 he took the money from the account to cover “personal miscellaneous expenses as a result of gambling,”

He pleaded no contest and was convicted of one count of misdemeanor theft July 7, 2011. Dahlberg entered a deferred agreement for two years and was ordered to perform 100 hours of community service in a plea bargain.
