Three Badgers getting surgery; should be ready for fall football season
Three University of Wisconsin football players have had surgeries since their loss to Tennessee at the Outback Bowl and at least one more is planned.
However, the Badgers say none of the affected players should miss next fall's season opener against Akron on Aug. 30 in Madison.
Fullback Bill Rentmeester is expected to be out for six weeks, but the team says he should be available for spring practices.
Tight ends Travis Beckum and Garrett Graham are both expected to be limited in the spring, but they should be back at full strength for the summer work-outs.
Defensive back Jay Valai has surgery planned for next week, but he's due back for the spring practices.
Defensive lineman Jason Chapman and defensive backs Allen Langford and Aaron Henry had operations late in the season and are also expected to be ready in the fall.
