Seniors Stephanie Little and Katrina Zenz have both been named to the 2011 All-Big Rivers Conference Volleyball Second Team while senior Maddie Drewiske has received Honorable Mention.

It's the second straight year Little and Zenz have earned all-BRC honors. Last year Little was named to the all-conference second team while Zenz received honorable mention.

Little and Zenz also shared the Raider team Offensive Player of the Year award handed out at the team's postseason banquet. Zenz led the team in blocks while Little was the team's top hitter.

"Their hitting percentage was so close that had they had the same number of attempts there would have been a difference of seven kills for the entire season," Raider coach Dennis Saathoff pointed out.

In addition to earning honorable mention All-BRC, Drewiske was the recipient of her team's Raider Award, which goes to the player who is in the top group in the most statistical categories.

"Maddie was not first in any category, but she was No. 2 or No. 3 in every one," Saathoff said. "She was also our primary floor captain for the entire season.

Junior Hannah Wirth earned the team's Defensive Player of the Year award after leading the team in digs and service receptions.

Saathoff said the team's seniors - Little, Zenz, Drewiske, Abby Francis and Anna Wilen - make up a group that will all be missed next season.

"All of these girls had a part in being leaders by working hard and setting a good example for the others in the entire program, not just the varsity team," Saathoff said. "Personally, I had a lot of fun coaching this team and as always I look forward to working with a new group next year."
