Three seek two open positions on school board
Two-term school board incumbent Lynn Robson, 1274 Highway 35, Hudson, will seek another term on the Board of Education in the spring election.
Dan Tjornehoj, the longest sitting member of the current board, has decided not to run for an eighth term, but rather for a seat on the Hudson City Council for the third district.
New candidates for the two open seats are Carrie Whitacre, 431 Wren Lane, Hudson and April Simmons, 1031 Second St., Hudson.
The election is April 1.
North Hudson Village Board
The village of North Hudson will see one newcomer and two incumbents running for three spots on the village board in the spring election. All the necessary preliminary paperwork was to be completed by 5 p.m. on Jan. 7.
Trustee George Klein has filed non-candidacy paperwork and will not rerun for the trustee post. Klein, who had stepped down as village president last year, was appointed to fulfill the term of current president Stan Wekkin. That term expires this spring.
Newcomer Rod Anderson has filed paperwork to run for a trustee post. Also, incumbent trustees Daryl Standafer and Ted Head have filed the necessary paperwork to run for re-election as trustees. In all, three trustee posts are open and it appears there will be three candidates on the ballot.
Of course, write-in campaigns are still available.
