Tina M. Emerson, 44

Tina Marie Emerson, age 44, of Eau Claire, Wis., died Sunday, April 20, at her home in Eau Claire after a lengthy illness.

Tina was born June 7, 1969, in Stillwater, Minn., to Richard and Janet (Bayer) and raised in Houlton, Wis.

She was a graduate of Hudson High School in 1987.

She received her RN, BSN from Alverno College, Milwaukee, Wis., and MSN from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

She was the former Director of Nursing at the Spring Valley Health and Rehab Center in Spring Valley, Wis.

She moved on to become the Clinical Instructor, School of Nursing, University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire.

Tina was a fan of NASCAR, the Green Bay Packers, and the New York Yankees. She loved her church family and especially enjoyed singing with the choir.

We would like to thank the many people who provided care for Tina during her cancer journey.

She is survived by her mother Janet Emerson, her brother Troy (Beth) Emerson; her sister Teresa (Casey) vanderBent; her nephew Abraham and niece Abbey (Josh) vanderBent; her aunts and uncles Carol and Rick Hansen, Nancy and Tom Jann, Carol Whitman; and many beloved cousins and other family members.

Preceded in death by her father Richard Emerson; her grandparents Lorraine and Warner Bayer, and Cora and Orville Emerson; her aunt and uncle Linda and Tom Dietert.

A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, at Menomonie United Methodist Church in Menomonie, with Pastor Don Gribble officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.

Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family.

The family will be giving any memorials to Tina's favorite charities. These may be sent to Janet Emerson at P.O. Box 168, Cameron, WI 54822.
