Todd Jacobson, 39
Todd Jacobson, 39, of Chippewa Falls died accidentally Friday, Aug. 8, at the Baldwin Area Medical Center following an injury while skydiving.
Todd was born on May 17, 1969, in La Crosse, the son of Michael and Leslee Jacobson.
He was raised near La Crosse, graduating from high school in Holmen. He furthered his education at Tulsa Aeronautics School.
Todd quickly developed an unmistakable love for flight: planes, skydiving. Passion would be an understatement for his love of skydiving. His over 5,200 dives put him into an elite class.
He was a proud staff member of Skydive Wissota in Chippewa Falls. Here, he served as a senior rigger, videographer, and safety and training adviser. He was also a Gang Green team member.
Besides skydiving, he enjoyed street bike motorcycles, dirt bike motorcycle riding and mountain biking. He loved the outdoors and a challenge.
Todd will remain in the hearts of his children, Skyler and Alexander; fiancée, Lynn Broberg; parents, Mike Jacobson of Hudson, Leslee Ausen of Mankato, Minn., and their spouses; siblings, Chad Jacobson of Seattle, Luke (Penny) Jacobson and their son Fredrick of Endeavor; and grandmother, Patty Rightmire.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Eda Jacobson and John Rightmire.
A Celebration of Todd's Life will be forthcoming with his second family at Skydive Wissota, paying tribute the way Todd would have wanted it: in flight! Todd will be cremated and his ashes scattered in flight.
A private family funeral service will be held with Pastor Steve Kramer officiating at O'Connell Family Funeral Home. Should friends or family desire, memorials may be directed to the family.
Cremation services are coordinated by Countryside Crematory with funeral services entrusted to the O'Connell Family Funeral Homes of Hudson and Baldwin.
