In an interview on Tuesday, Toll said the time was right for him to make the change. He said he expects to begin a new job as a salesman with Luther Chevrolet in Hudson next week. Toll, 52, said the new job will allow him to stay connected with the community where he has lived and worked for more than 20 years.

In a letter to HHS parents and students, new HHS Principal Laura Love wrote the following:

"For more than 20 years at the high school he has touched the lives of thousands of students and community members. Mr. Toll will be missed by many staff members, parents and students. He clearly has a big personality and a huge heart for students -- his work will be remembered for these things!"

Toll said, "I love this community and was very fortunate to work with many wonderful people over the years. I am grateful for all their support."

Toll's wife Nancy is the district's director of technology services and a former science teacher at HHS. The couple live in Hudson and have two grown children.
