Town of Hudson needs new fire numbers
At Tuesday night's (Feb. 7) town Hudson Board meeting Supervisor Tim Foster reported to the board that most of the fire numbers in the town need to be replaced, as they are no longer reflective.
Foster said the cost for the signs would be approximately $41,000, plus shipping costs. However, Foster pointed out that with the lack of snow and winter weather emergencies this year that he feels that there is enough money in the budget to purchase the signs. He said the board may want to purchase them this year, when there is extra money available.
In addition, Foster said he will donate all labor that would be needed to replace the signs. The board took no action on the item since it was not an agenda item. It will be brought up again at a later board meeting when it can be officially listed as an agenda item.
During the public comment portion a couple living on Jacobs Lane raised concerns and reported problems with both traffic and noise coming to and from the Jehovah's Witness Church on the same street.
Chair Jeff Johnson clarified that not much can be done, and that churches are allowed in residential neighborhoods. However, Johnson said he will talk to the county highway commissioner to see if it possible to move the church's driveway from Jacobs Lane to County Road UU in an effort to help with some of the traffic and noise.
